Linda Lou Robinson, daughter of Leonard Ezra Young and Edith Lucinda Carpentar Young was born June 12, 1937 in Duncan, Missouri. She passed away at 5:55 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Webco Manor, Marshfield, surrounded by family, at the age of 80 years, 7 months, 6 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Edith Young, her husband of almost 57 years, Russell Eugene Robinson, and two siblings, Leonard Wayne Young and Phyllis June Young Crossman.

After graduating from Marshfield High School, Linda married Russell Robinson on her 18th birthday, June 12, 1955. She proudly served as a military wife while he spent the next 21 years in the United States Air Force. She also enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. When Russell retired from the Air Force in 1975, she put her seamstress skills to work and they started Marshfield Upholstery Shop, which they owned and operated for close to 25 years.

Linda was saved as a child at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Wright County, Missouri. After returning to Marshfield in 1975, she joined First Baptist Church, Marshfield, where she remained a member until her death. She spent many years working with the youth of First Baptist. She enjoyed going on youth trips, even after her own kids were grown. In later years she started working in the church nursery.

Linda loved children. Her home served as a daycare for her grandchildren and “adopted” grandchildren. In her spare time she loved to read, sew, paint, cook, and garden. She enjoyed spending time with her family, extended family, her church family, and friends. For many years she hosted a family Christmas dinner, turning her basement into a big family reunion.

Linda is survived by her two sons, Dr. Dennis Robinson and his wife Agena, Marshfield, and David Robinson, Niangua; one daughter, Barbara Watkins and her husband Walter, Marshfield; two brothers, William (Bill) Young, Niangua, and Terry Young; one sister Evelyn Sue Snider, Sedalia; five grandchildren, Bryant Robinson and his wife Stacy, Marshfield, Brandon Robinson and his wife Jessica, Marshfield, Crystal Linhardt, St. Louis, Zachary Watkins, Marshfield, and Evan Watkins, Marshfield; three great-grandchildren, Isaac Klotz, Tarren Robinson, and Bennett Robinson; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 Monday, January 22, 2018, at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Interment will follow in Marshfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Sunday, January 21 in the funeral home.
