Melvin Edward Engelking

Melvin Engelking, Seymour, passed away on January 22, 2018 at the age of 86 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Born near Diggins, MO on October 2, 1931, he was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Diggins, MO. He graduated from Fordland High School in 1950. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Munson for sixty-four years. They had three children and lived on the family farm for sixty-four years. He worked for MFA Producers in Springfield for many years and also worked for Springfield Public School System and retired from there after 25 ½ years in December of 1993.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Engelking of the home; children Rick and Kay Engelking of Marshfield, Randy Engelking of Springfield, Tammy Loveland and David Houston of Nixa; grandchildren Brandon and Laura Engelking of Republic, Nathan and Kelly Engelking of Republic, Matthew Loveland of Springfield, Jessica and Tyler Fidler of Niangua, Krista Loveland and Ben Young of Springfield, Dustin Engelking of Springfield, Megan Engelking of Marshfield; six great-grandchildren; and many lifelong friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, Diggins, with interment following in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, from 6-7 p.m. at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.
