Miodo Leon “Mike” Detherow was born September 7, 1917 in Springfield, MO to Gilbert and Mary (Curtis) Detherow and passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 in Marshfield Care Center at the age of 100.

Mike served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and held jobs as a carpenter and railroad worker, as well as working at both Penny’s and Foremost Dairies. Mike married Lucille in 1938, and this union was blessed with three children,  Bob, Marie, and Carolyn. After Lucille passed away, Mike married Louise Rost Carrier in 1996. He enjoyed singing and playing the harmonica. He was a member of Marshfield Nazarene Church, and Mike credited keeping God first in his life with his long life.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Lucille (Manis) Detherow; stepson Dale Carrier; grandson Michael Detherow; daughter Carolyn Sue Detherow; sister Millie Jackson; and great-granddaughter Riley Rouse.

Mike is survived by his wife, Louise, of the home; his son, Bobby (Mary) Detherow, Springfield, MO; his daughter, Mary Marie (Richard) Hunt, Summersville, SC; stepdaughters Judy (Robert) Rouse, Houston, MO, Ruth (Paul) Coffey, Bolivar, MO, and Karla (Kevin) Murgel, Elkland, MO; grandchildren, Janet Robinett, John Brooks, Gregory Brooks, Jeffery Brooks, Jamie Hunt, Jeramy Lee, Tiffany Kauffman, Curtis Rouse, Jessica Carrier, Joshua Carrier, Jon Carrier, Ben Carrier, Michael Coffey, Eric Coffey, Kaitlin Lowery, and Kylee Sampley; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2018 in Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., with burial following in Pleasant View Cemetery, Elkland. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, in the funeral home.
