Sigel Owen
Thomas Sigel Owen, was born October 14, 1961 to David Wilbur and Melva June (Thomas) Owen in Springfield. He departed this life on June 16, 2023, at the age 61 at his home in the High Prairie community east of Marshfield.
Sigel lived his whole life on High Prairie as a dairy farmer and cattleman. He retired as a dairy inspector for St. Louis County where he worked for 31 years. He was a very active member of Marshfield First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for a number of years. He served on the Senate Bill 40 board for 20 years. He enjoyed playing guitar, gardening, fishing and woodworking. He made several pieces of furniture for family and friends out of old barn wood. He had a heart for the Lord, his family, children, and those with disabilities.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Sigel is survived by his wife, Deborah, of the home; his son, Caleb and his wife Kayla, Springfield; his daughter, Laura, of the home; three sisters and their husbands, Kaye and Ray Brinson, Nixa, Connie and Wayne Galbraith, Marshfield, and Lucinda and Greg Wadley, Fremont Hills; his mother-in-law, Ellen Honeycutt, Marshfield; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in Marshfield First Baptist Church, with Rev. Rich Cochran, Rev. Ray Brinson and Rev. Mike Brinson officiating. Interment will follow in Marshfield Cemetery, under the care of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.
