Bob worked for Rothmel Service Station as an auto mechanic on old 66 until I-44 came in and the station closed. He worked for City Utilities as a bus mechanic for seven years, then he built a body shop, mechanic shop and towing business, which he ran for 30 years. He then owned and operated HHH Hauling for fifteen years.  Over the past 50 years, he also invested in many rental properties. After retiring, he helped his son out from time to time in his construction business. He worked as hard after retirement as he did when he had his businesses.

Bob was a charter member of Marshfield Evangelical Methodist Church, and in recent years attended Marshfield Church of the Nazarene.

Bob enjoyed driving stock cars and drag racing in Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois. He thought it was very important to learn car maintenance, which he taught his daughter, Sharon, at a very young age. He loved collecting pennies and was always looking at the ground trying to find one, even if that meant going into the street and stopping traffic. If you knew Bob, he had a love for food and for church dinners, family dinners, and anything dinners!
