Scott David Melton, 49 of Elkland, MO was born on December 21, 1968 in St. Louis, MO. He spread his wings and peacefully went home to our Lord and Savior on December 26, 2017 after winning his battle over Huntington’s Disease.

He was met by his precious parents, Allen and Vivian (Wilson) Melton, as well as many other loved ones excitedly awaiting his arrival.

When it’s our time to be called home, Scott will be there with open arms waiting for his wife, Tab Melton, sons Blake Melton, Conner Dibben, Collin Dibben, and Jordon Dedrick, all of the home, son Brett Melton and fiancée Lindsey Ambrose, daughter Danielle Melton and fiancé Steve Hopkins, two precious grandchildren, Tyler Hopkins and Skylar Melton, brother Jimmy Melton and sister-in-law Robin Melton, brother and sister in heart, Steve and Michelle Melton, as well as all of his heart felt family and friends.

Scott is a United States Naval Veteran who served on the USS America CV-66 during Operation Desert Storm as an airplane mechanic. Scott was a very hard worker, doing several different jobs through his lifetime, but none better than being a husband and father.

Scott and Tab met by chance and they immediately found a home in each other’s hearts. They were married in 2008 and their love for each other and the Lord enabled them to withstand the test of time. They were blessed with many children that they have loved just as much as they loved each other.

Scott was a member of Prospect Church and loved his brothers and sisters in Christ. He loved going to the Men’s Encounter and Monday night Bible study until his illness no longer allowed him to attend, at which point the Church came to him and always left their home filled with praise and worship, praying them up until the walls of their little home were about to burst!

Time and time again, family, friends, community, and strangers as well have loved and prayed Scott and his family through this battle.

Praise God for hearing prayers, because Scott’s soaring like an eagle now.

Funeral services for Scott Melton will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., with interment following in Pleasant View Cemetery, Elkland. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Isaiah 40:31-But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
