Severa Zavala

Severa Zavala, was born November 8, 1930, in Sugarland, TX to Moses Zavala. She departed this life January 7, 2022, at her home in Elkland, MO at the age of 91.

Severa was Catholic, she loved the Lord with all her heart. Always willing to help anyone who needed it. Severa made friends everywhere she went, enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores. She volunteered at Elkland Independent Methodist Church thrift store and food pantry. She loved her family, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Severa loved to make homemade tamales and homemade tortillas. For several years she made and sold to restaurants and the community.

She is preceded in death by her father; her husband, Guadalupe Zavala; two sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her children; Isarel Zavala and Frances of Wharton, TX, Pedro Zavala of Kansas City, MO, Adam Zavala and Wanda of Elkland, MO, Alexander Zavala and Martha of Clute, TX; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her pets, Taco and Miss Kitty; and many dear friends; Sam Hicks whom she thought of as another son.

Graveside Services will be Friday, January 14, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Timber Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc.
