Dixie Ruth "Dee" Shields

Dixie Ruth “Dee” Shields, Conway, was born April 10, 1940 to Homer and May (Holliday) Vincent. She departed this life on January 27, 2024 in her home at the age of 83.

Dee loved her family, and always took good care of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved cooking, baking, and gardening. She also enjoyed sewing, making clothing, doll clothes and quilting. She liked to read and do puzzles in her free time. Dee was a Baptist.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earnest Shields; daughter, Janice Jones; grandson, Alex Jones; two brothers, Don and Paul; and seven sisters, Wanda, Wilma, Willa, Kay, Glenance, and Peggy Jo.

She is survived by her children, Steve Shields and wife Cherrie, Conway, Cindy Wilson, Amoret, John Shields and wife Jerri, Lebanon, and Rebecca Shields, Dogpatch; sibling Shirl Shields, Lebanon; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Dixie Shields will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in the chapel of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow in Alexander Vincent Cemetery, Conway. Visitation will be before services at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
