Norman Paul Smith

Norman Paul Smith was born on September 16, 1938, to Paul Hazen Smith and Dora Ione (Rich) Smith at Cold Springs, MO. He departed this life July 4, 2023 at the age of 84.

He was united in marriage to his beloved wife Bessie Corrine Fleming on August 12, 1957 in Garden City, Kansas and their 65 years of love began.

He is survived by Bessie of the home and four children; Paul (Geri) Smith of Springfield, Shelia (Mark) Davis of Elkland, Eric (Sherri) Smith of Willard and Lane (April) Smith of Marshfield.

He is preceded in death by one son, Gary Mark.

Norman and Bessie have seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He is survived by a sister; Doris Heard of San Angelo, Texas; his brothers, Dean Smith of Seymour, Rick Smith of Bartlett, Nebraska; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In his early years Norman moved to Kansas and worked on a large Farm/Ranch, he enjoyed working the land and animals but his Missouri home called to them and they returned in 1969. Norman and Bessie owned the Dairy Princess in Seymour for a few years then he began his career at Hutchens Industries. He will be remembered as a kind gentleman and will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Memorial services will be Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield, MO 65706. Interment will be in Marshfield Cemetery.
