Jeffrey Jon "Tex" Day
Jeffrey Jon “Tex” Day, son of Ralph “Red” Day and Aileene (Trantham) Day, was born November 15, 1952 in Springfield, MO. He passed away at 7:56 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 in his home in Seymour.
Tex was a well known truck driver in the Webster County area, most recently driving for Marshfield Machinery. Tex's favorite past times included: spending time with his family, and on many occasions traveling across the states with them to watch his longtime friend Aaron Tippin play his greatest hits of country music. The best way to describe Tex would be that he never met a stranger and was blessed heavily with the gift of gab, and he also had a great love for his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them as they always put a smile on his face; He was also an adamant animal lover. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Greg Day.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 40 years, Kathy, and grandson Karter Strickland, of the home; three daughters and their husbands, Amanda and Dale Hutson, Stacy and Jihad Ahmad and Summer and James Hildebrand, all of Seymour; his grandchildren, Aubrey Hutson and his wife Stephanie, Shania Bishop and her husband Brandon, Kelbe Strickland and Kyndal Strickland, Hadlee Hildebrand; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln Hutson and Kyna Bishop; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 in the Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Interment will follow in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 in the funeral home.
