Dennie Dean Whittaker
Dennie Dean Whittaker, Marshfield, was born on May 22, 1942, to Ray Murl and Flossie Lavon (Mitchell) Whittaker. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 20, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on the family farm in Wright county and attended New Mountain Dale school during elementary years and then Marshfield High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy where he served his country for 20 years, retiring at the rank of E8 Senior Chief Petty Officer. He received the Good Conduct medal and Armed Forces Reserve medal. His favorite pastime during his service was spent with his co-workers playing fast pitch soft ball.
After retirement he took on the challenge as an accountant and owner of Whittaker Tax Service. His hard work and dedication was a legacy that he left to all those who knew and trusted him.
When he wasn't working, he enjoyed hunting with his beloved bird dogs with the Webster County Bird Hunters Association, fishing with his family and playing golf with friends.
Dennie attended Diggins Baptist Church and he was not ashamed to share with anyone about his faith and the goodness of his God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Dale Whittaker.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home; his son, Ken Whittaker and wife Sandy, Marshfield; his daughter, Pam Wormington and husband Kirk, Monett; his grandchildren, Alex Whittaker, Dalton Alexander, Nicole McKnight and husband Kelby, and Kimberly Hull and husband Jared; his great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Whittaker, Kyra Eitner, Weston Alexander, Kase McKnight, Gunner Hull, and Hudson Hull; his sister, Shirley Smith, Marshfield; his brother, Darrell Whittaker and Lorene of Mansfield; and many nieces, nephews and several other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield, with visitation before services from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Friday.
In leiu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Society, or Phoenix Hospice, and left in care of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., P.O. Box 85, Marshfield, MO, 65706.
