William "Bill" Harry

William “Bill” Paul Harry, Elkland, was born February 14, 1952 in Springfield, MO, to William and Virginia (Johnston) Harry. He departed this life on December 1, 2024, in his home at the age of 72.

Bill grew up on a family farm in Elkland. He enlisted in the United States Army to get out and see the world, serving overseas in Germany. After his time in the service, he spent some time working in the oil field before returning to the farm.  He married Virginia Dinwiddie, had one child, Missy, and dairy farmed together for nearly 40 years. Bill had a quirky sense of humor and was always down for a cup of coffee and a war story. He enjoyed firearms, grain farming, conspiracy theories, and visiting with his kids and grandkids, and also complete strangers on the short-wave.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill is survived by his wife, Virginia; his daughter, Missy Pickel and husband James, Marshfield; two grandchildren Billy Pickel and Brooke, Elkland, and Rainy Pickel, Elkland; one great-granddaughter, Kaycee Pickel; his aunt Linda Ellis and husband John, Kansas; as well as several other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at St. Luke Cemetery, Conway, under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc.
