Karen Marie Beiermann

Karen Marie Beiermann, the eldest daughter of Norman and Marie (Wildhaber) Creel, was born on August 27, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri. She passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, at The Maples in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 78.

Growing up in South St. Louis City, Karen attended St. John the Baptist Grade School and High School. She fondly remembered walking past the Bevo Mill daily to and from school.

Karen's dedication to nursing began after graduating from the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She worked as a registered nurse in the critical care and recovery unit, caring for countless patients. A lifelong fan of St. Louis sports, Karen's passion for her city extended to her professional life. She treated many athletes, including players from the St. Louis Cardinals (both football and baseball) and the St. Louis Blues. Karen's unwavering commitment to nursing spanned an impressive 52 years at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

On October 4, 1968, Karen married Stanley Beiermann of Jerseyville, Illinois. Together, they spent 56 years of marriage, most of which were spent raising their two sons and several beloved pets in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Karen enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling with Stan throughout the United States and Europe. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she was known for her impeccable work ethic and resilient spirit.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and Gertrude Beiermann, and her brother-in-law, John Achs.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Beiermann; her children, Christopher Beiermann (Nicole) of Battlefield, Missouri, and Jeffrey Beiermann of Troy, Illinois; her sister, Marge Achs of St. Louis; her nieces, Jennifer Mann (Tim) and Angela Achs; her grandchildren, Bryce and Noah Weidemann, Gracie, Joshua, and Aiden Beiermann; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Kay Beiermann, Judy Jacobsen (John), Dennis Beiermann (Denise and their children), and Roger Beiermann; and her great nephew, Connor Achs.
