Gary Allan Fraker, Marshfield, was born August 24, 1949, in Niangua, MO to Roy Cleland and Helen Jean (Dyche) Fraker. He departed this life December 19, 2022, at Cox South in Springfield, MO at the age of 73 years.

Gary was united in marriage to Jacquelyn Lee Fraker on August 23, 1969, at the Marshfield United Methodist Church. To this union, two sons, Dale and Garrett were born. He was the owner of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., which he and Jackie co-owned and operated since 1972.  He worked as a funeral director and licensed embalmer. From 1972-1975 they also owned and operated Fraker Ambulance Service. Gary served on the Board of Directors at Metropolitan National Bank and was appointed to the Missouri State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, serving several terms as Board President. He was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church. He humbly served his community for many years, taking great pride in the opportunity to help his friends and neighbors. He never gave to seek recognition but from the goodness of his heart. To know him was to love and respect him.  He was always quick with a smile, warm hug or joke. Some of his greatest blessings called him Papa. He would brag endlessly about his grandchildren and made it a point to be as involved with them as possible.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Helen, and his wife Jackie Fraker. Gary is survived by two sons, Dale Fraker and wife Marta, Marshfield, and Garrett Fraker and wife Heather, Springfield; one grandson, Kile Fraker and his girlfriend Bel Long, Marshfield; two granddaughters, Gracelyn Fraker and Aliyah Fraker, both of Springfield; one sister, Julie Ebersold of Springfield; his cousin who he considered more as a brother, Ben Fraker, Marshfield; and his fiancée, Jan Nunn and her daughters, Stacy, Stephanie, Natalie and their families.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in Marshfield United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Marshfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home or the Backpack Program and may be left in care of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., P.O. Box 85, Marshfield, MO 65706.
