Wanda Lorene Lowe

 
 

Wanda Lorene (McClanahan) Lowe daughter of Rev. Leslie and Chloda (Howell) McClanahan was born October 25, 1942, in Lebanon Mo. She went to be with the lord September 15, 2022, she was 79. Wanda married Sherman Lowe June 5, 1959; they were married 55 years until his passing in 2014. To this union were born 5 children, Debbie (Don) Cooper Springfield, Karen Blazer (fiancé Steve Murphy) Marshfield, Kathy (Dave) Carnahan Fordland. Becky (Tim) McHaffie Fordland and Ricky (Sarah) Lowe Marshfield.

Wanda retired from Webster County courthouse in 2007 after 38 years of faithful service. She began her career in 1969 as an associate circuit court clerk. Then in 1973 she became the first woman deputy sheriff/ dispatcher for Webster County sheriff, under sheriff Gene Fraker. She left to become a Webster County circuit court clerk under judge Knust in 1988, then retiring in 2007. After retiring she enjoyed traveling with family and attending music jams with friends and family. She accepted Jesus Christ as her lord and savior at a young age; faithfully serving the lord as a member of the United Methodist church for many years before attending Fordland First Baptist church where her grandson is the pastor.

 “We will miss the love and prayers that she had for everyone, she was a very courageous woman, not only being a sheriff’s deputy but the valiant fight she put on at the end of her life with her battle with cancer. Her strength and courage are a lesson to us all.”

 She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents and sister Wilma Jones (Rev. Bill). She leaves behind 5 children and their spouses. 12 Grandkids Joseph, Rachel (Dalton), Kayla (Keith), Ashley, Thomas (Nicole), Matthew (Kristi), Heather (Cory), Angel (Dylan), Wyatt, Leah, Megan and Austin. 14 Great grandkids Jacob, Dalen, Ralee, Aziza, Ana, Chloe, Kaitlin, Kyle, Savannah, Jase, Natalie, Karra, Finlee, and Sawyer. Also survived by 3 sister in-laws Helen Allen, Barbera Lowe and Charlesetta Lowe, several nieces and nephews and so many friends.

Visitation will be held at Fraker Funeral Home on Sunday September 18, 2022 at 6:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Fraker Funeral Home on Monday September 19, 2022 at 1:00 PM, with interment following in Marshfield Cemetery.
