Raymond Howard

Raymond Roy Howard, the son of Pete and Della (Smith) Howard, was born on November 14, 1922, and passed away at his home in Marshfield, Missouri, on November 29, 2022, at the age of 100.

On May 12, 1946, he was united in marriage to Esther Lucille North. To this union, four children were born.

Raymond worked as a barber for many years. For 23 years he volunteered at Webco Manor cutting men's hair. He also volunteered for many years at the Marshfield Senior Center delivering Meals On Wheels to the “the old people” until he was 93 years old. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ for many years until his passing continuing to attend services at Highway OO in Strafford, MO, even when he had to be lifted in and out of his seat. He will be missed by all his church family and many friends. His home with Esther was always open to anyone traveling through. Many brothers and sisters were welcomed with a home-cooked meal and a warm bed.

When not volunteering somewhere, Raymond loved to fish and hunt. He was also good at pulling a prank on someone. You could see his smile in his eyes when he got you.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Esther of 70 years, and three sisters: Opal Laney, Lora Eslinger, and Emogene Cornell.

Raymond is survived by his daughter, Suella Gonzalez of Springfield; three sons: Ray Howard (Theresa) of New Vienna, Ohio, Mike Howard of Niangua and Danny Howard (Eva) of Marshfield; one sister, Flo Ming of Stockton, California; two brothers: Dallas Howard (Donna) of Rogersville and Harvey Howard of Springfield; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022, with Steve Watts from Readyville, TN officiating. Interment will follow at the Marshfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022.
