Robert Lee Jump

 
 

Robert Lee Jump was born to Robert and Betty (Thurman) Jump of Marshfield, MO, December 11, 1952. He departed this life December 13, 2022, at the age of 70 years in Clearlake, CA.

Rob was a 1970 graduate of Marshfield High School then attended 1 year at Crowder Junior College. He then served his county in the United States Navy as a 2nd Class Petty Officer from October 1971 to June 1978. During that time, he was assigned to the USS Vulcan repair ship and was later assigned to the nuclear-powered USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, the largest aircraft carrier at the time. After his time in the Navy, Rob worked with an engineering firm that contracted with NASA for several years. When the contract was not renewed, he enrolled in Richmond University in Virginia where he studied art and photography. Rob enjoyed going to auctions and estate sales buying antiques and collector items. He was an avid reader and had a collection of first edition books.

Rob did not have any children of his own but enjoyed spending time with his two nephews and one niece.

Rob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Jump Sr; a brother, Ted Jump; and a nephew, Elijah Jump.

Rob is survived by his mother, Betty Jump of Marshfield; a brother, Rex Jump and wife Rose; a nephew, Ezekiel Jump and wife Amy; a great-nephew, Xander Jump; a niece, Sara Jump McNew; and great-nieces Zada and Cassidy McNew, and Seraphina Jump; an uncle, Lonnie Thurman and wife Jan; aunts, Phyllis Conover and Kris Willett; many cousins and friends; and his special friend, Brittany.
