Anita L. Sloan

 
 

Anita Lejune (Hartley-Rear-Beckner) Sloan was born April 11, 1941 in Fair Grove, Missouri, and passed away July 20, 2023 at the age of 82 at Copper Rock facility in Rogersville surrounded by her family.

She loved the Lord, her family, gardening, cooking and decorating her house. She loved being a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Hazel (Tracey) Hartley, her husband of 32 years Howard Rear, her second husband of 26 years, James Beckner, and her third husband of 2 years, Paul Sloan.

She is survived by her 5 children, Janice Rear, Springfield; Junior Rear, Marshfield; Steven Rear, Marshfield; Tim Rear and wife Marcy, Battlefield; Joyce Ince and husband Tim, Fordland. 8 grandchildren; Kelley, Jesse, Cameron, Jacob, Tyler and wife Madison, Trevor, Maranda and husband Zane, and T.J. 1 great-granddaughter, Monroe. 2 sisters, Bonnie Seaburn and husband Eugene, Linda and husband Dan, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She grew up going to Cedar Bluff Baptist Church in Fair Grove. While married to Howard, they attended Baptist Churches from Northview to Aurora, where Howard would preach.

While married to James, they attended Faith Southern Baptist Church. Anita and Paul attended church in Willard.

She loved to sing in church and passed that love on to her granddaughter.

She loved to cook for her family, and was a good cook. She passed this love and passion on to her family.

She loved to garden, can her vegetables from her garden, and decorate her home. She loved getting flowers to decorate in her yard. She passed this love down to her daughter and only granddaughter.

Anyone who met her loved her. She had such a sweet smile and loved to talk to anyone about the Lord. Even in her last days, she touched all of her nurses who cared for her. She is going to be greatly missed, but we all are at peace knowing she is no longer suffering.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2023, in the chapel of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., with interment following in Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be before services from 12:00-1:00 in the funeral home.
