Jay Anthony "Tony" Wells

Jay Anthony “Tony” Wells, Marshfield, was born July 6, 1961, in St. Louis, MO, to Claude Wells and Mary Ellen (Deckard) Wells. He departed this life on March 9, 2025, in his home at the age of 63.

Tony had worked as a cutter in an assembly plant. He enjoyed playing billiards. Tony was an avid baseball fan, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. He also greatly enjoyed the outdoors; cutting wood and sharing many stories of deer camp from Birch Tree to West Plains, Mo. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; his sister, Debbie Wells-Davis; his daughter, Brandi Wells; and his brother, Charlie Wells.

Tony is survived by three sons, Jay Wells and his wife Jessica of Marshfield, Travis Wells of Springfield, and Joe Wells of Springfield; his father and stepmother, Claude and Martha Wells of Marshfield; his siblings, C.E. Wells and Debi of Elkland, Richard Wells of Waynesville, Dennis Wells and Debbie of Fair Grove, Randy Wells of Marshfield, Brenda Farrell and Rick of  Springfield, Dale Wells and Lori of Marshfield, Lisa Oaks and William of Marshfield, and Steven Wells of Minneapolis; and six grandchildren, Haley Wells, Sonni Wells, Layton Wells, Naomi Wells, Carter Creson and Kennedy Wells. 

Funeral services for Tony Wells will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield, with interment following in Marshfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. before services.
